Day 1 basics

Ooookay so February has started and I am exceptionally sad to say goodbye to chocolate!! :( It is a sad day people. BUT hopefully through this journey, for once in my life, I will stick to an exercise plan and DO it and see the rewards! I normally get bored and just give up, but this time, I think if you prepare properly, you can stick to something better.
So first things first:
Measurements: *first thing in the morning

Height: 173cm (5"8')
Weight: 54.4kg (119.5lbs)
Top size: 10 (34)
Jean size: 8 (32) (I can also fit into a size 6 dress)

Arm: 29cm
Bust: 82.5cm
Waist: 63cm
Hips/Bum: 95cm *(widest area in the hip/bum region)
Thigh: 54.5cm

I used to be a gymnast/acrobat until I was 16/17 (I am now 24).

In December I went overseas for a month and literally lost all my muscle tone.  I am so sad about that! Last year I went to a biokineticist and my body profile was ectomorph (which I knew) and a body fat % of 12.5%. I asked her why then, if my body fat was so low, do I not have ripped abs. Basically her answer was that my muscle mass is very low and with exercise that will start to show. Genetically my family are very lean and thin and we really battle to maintain muscle. After a month overseas doing no activity and eating for a European Winter and festive season, all muscle tone was definitely lost there. So this is a good challenge to get me back into shape! I don't want to look like a bodybuilder or fitness model, just ok and fit.
Here are my very sad before shots... So unflexed shots:

And flexed shots:

So not much difference between the unflexed and the flexed. From looking at the shots I think I would like to transform my hips a bit, and upper thighs and then just get more tone on the arms and abs. In a way looking at the pictures I see I am not as bad as I thought, but coming from a sport where what your body looks like is pivotal, I feel like there is a long way to go to be 100% satisfied. To be fair, I am pretty happy with the before shots - I already know that I do look after my diet and I already know that I am at a place where I won't lose weight because that is just stupid to have a BMI less than 18 - basically what I need to do is build my body and tone it. The diet part I have largely mastered over years (hence my nutrition blog) but I don't make the time to exercise or keep fit and I get bored SO quickly with repetitive sporting activities - It really takes a LOT to keep me in the game so to speak. I am pretty much well aware that I will probably get bored with repetitive push ups, plank etc everyday but I have to try very very hard this time! Today I will record what I eat and what exercise I manage to do and in a week's time I will post more pics of the progress. WISH ME LUCK :)

Pre Challenge

Today is the last day of January 2012 and tomorrow starts the month of February. February comes with the 3000 Challenge - the month to perform:
3000 seconds of plank
3000 seconds of side plank each side
3000 lunges
3000 push ups and I will include
3000 situps

along with the following dietary modifications:
No saturated fats from butter, margarine or sunflower oil
No alcohol
No cakes/pastries, sweets, biscuits, puddings etc
No fast food

This works out to approximately 100 reps a day. But I do wish to have a rest day on Sundays, so it is more like 120 a day. Tomorrow I will take all my measurements, height, weight, bust, arm, waist, hips, and thigh and post my progress each day. I will also include my eating plan for the next month as I go along. My biggest challenge yet! Let's see if I can do this!!
So far my plan is that I wont have a) time and b) energy to do 100 of each in 1 go (lacking serious fitness and time) so I think I will break it up into 2 sets of 50 (morning and evening), but at any 1 point in time will not do less than 25 in 1 go.
